I received my clinical training at the University of Washington’s (UW) top-ranked School of Social Work and completed my practicum work at Sound Mental Health. I have worked in the mental health field since 2004 in outpatient, residential, and medical settings. In addition to my experience as a therapist, I have also served in leadership positions at several non-profit organizations in roles including program director and clinical supervisor. I have been active in policy advocacy as a past Governor appointed member of the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council. I am on the medical staff of Swedish Medical Center and formerly held a leadership position with Providence Telehealth. I am currently the Director of Behavioral Health for Kinwell Medical Group, which partners with Premera Blue Cross to provide integrated primary care services in clinics across the State of Washington. I am also the founder and principal therapist at Gemini Clinical Associates, an innovation-focused behavioral health startup.

The recent focus of my training has been Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have completed hundreds of hours of intensive courses with the creators of this model as well as other master trainers. Grounded in rigorous science, I find this approach to be very effective in helping people to make and sustain meaningful change.

I grew up in the woods on Whidbey Island with my 3 redheaded brothers. I have traveled all over the world, from Asia to Europe to South and Central America to the Eastern United States, but am quite happy to have settled down in Seattle.

I have been married for many years and am enjoying the adventure of fatherhood. In my free time I enjoy travel, hiking, biking, cooking, writing, and spending time with family.
