I received my clinical education at the University of Washington’s (UW) top-ranked School of Social Work and completed my practicum training at Sound Mental Health. I have worked in healthcare since 2004 in outpatient, residential, and medical settings. In addition to my experience as a therapist, I have also served in leadership positions at a number of organizations. I was a past Governor appointed member of the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council. I have been on the medical staff of Swedish Medical Center and held a leadership position with Providence. I was on the founding leadership team and was Director of Behavioral Health for Kinwell Medical Group, which was founded by Premera Blue Cross to provide integrated primary care services in clinics across the State of Washington.

I am on the executive coaching list at a number of hospitals who refer physicians and other providers to me to help address behavioral issues in the workplace, that may or may not involve a PIP plan.

The recent focus of my training has been Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have completed hundreds of hours of intensive courses with the creators of this model as well as other master trainers. Grounded in rigorous science, I find this approach to be very effective in helping people to make and sustain meaningful change.

I was raised by hippy parents in the woods of Whidbey Island with my 3 redheaded brothers. I have traveled all over the world, from Asia to Europe to South and Central America to the Eastern United States, but am quite happy to have settled down in the northern suburbs of Seattle.

My lovely wife and I have been married for nearly twenty years and are enjoying the adventure of parenthood. My two daughters are the light of my life. In my free time I enjoy travel, hiking, biking, cooking, writing, and spending time with family.
